- Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZIF) of Bielefeld University; Department of Economics of the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano

Dates:July 05-07, 2010
Description:International Workshop on Advances in Agent-based Computational Economics - ADACE 2010
Location:Bielefeld , Centre for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF), Germany
Subject:The aim of this workshop is to generally contribute to the progress of the field of agent-based computational economics (ACE) and in particular to work towards the development of agent-based models which allow for new insights into economic mechanisms underlying relevant policy questions and provide a platform for evaluation and comparison of effects of economic policy measures. Spatial agent-based economic models are seen as a particularly promising field of research in that respect and therefore one of the main themes of the workshop is spatial modelling. Since agent-based models are typically characterized by boundedly rational behaviour of agents and a relatively large number of free parameters a critical issue for the use of an ACE approach for policy analysis is the empirical grounding of the models. In particular we want to focus on: - Agent-based models for economic policy design - Modeling spatial economies using agent-based techniques - Behavioral foundations of agent-based modeling and the - Calibration of agent based models.
