| Subject: | European nations, industries and firms are facing new challenges in sustaining and renewing their competitive advantages. Globalization and the emergence of knowledge-based economies are shifting the sources of competitive advantage from traditional monopoly profits towards Schumpeterian profits based on dynamic capabilities. These changes affect the sources of competitive advantages for the firm and therefore it is very important for firms to create and manage their knowledge assets efficiently. The EAEPE Symposium 2009 provides a venue for collaborative efforts of evolutionary economists and strategic management scholars to further our understanding of knowledge, and its role for the theory of firm both in descriptive and normative sense. |
