| Subject: | The Kiel Institute offers the possibility of attending selected courses of its Advanced Studies Program. In this seminar (Professor Gordon Hanson, UC San Diego and NBER) we will examine how global economic integration affects labor markets with emphasis on mechanisms related to global outsourcing, foreign direct investment, growth in China and other developing countries, and international migration. In considering each of these mechanisms, we will begin with a general equilibrium model and move to empirical work involving either structural estimation or theoretically grounded reduced-form estimation.
