| Subject: | The financial crisis revealed that even a well-capitalised bank can find itself in difficulty if it does not manage its liquidity properly. Consequently, recent years have seen a great deal of theoretical and empirical research into the links between financial firm liquidity and overall financial stability. Furthermore, given that these links exist, central banks, financial market regulators, and international institutions have all been exploring how to promote financial stability by developing liquidity standards. In this seminar we will take stock of the research between liquidity and financial stability and will examine the regulatory initiatives in this area.
