Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System
This site offers extensive material about the Board of Governors
and the Federal Reserve system as a whole. It begins with information
about the Fed, such as its structure, and has links to other central
banks and related web sites. Their "News and Events" section contains
testimony, speeches (such as the "Monetary Policy Report to the
Congress"), press releases, and conference information. As one would
expect, the "Monetary Policy" section focuses on the Open Market
Committee, monetary policy tools, and reports used in making monetary
policy (such as the "Beige Book"). The "Economic Research and Data"
section contains many important resources. Perhaps most useful is
"Statistics: Releases and Historical Data," which has a number of
useful releases:

H.10 Foreign Exchange Rates
H.15 Selected Interest Rates
H.3 Aggregate Reserves of Depository Institutions and the Monetary Base
H.4.1 Factors Affecting Reserve Balances

Many of these releases include long historical time series. Some are
of high frequency, and many series began years ago. The frequency of
data varies: some are daily, some weekly, some monthly, some
quarterly, and some annual. The breadth of many of these releases is
quite surprising. One can also perform customized data downloads with their
Data Download
facility.
The "Economic Research and Data" section also has various surveys
and reports (which includes the "Survey of Consumer Finances"), staff
studies, working papers, articles from the "Federal Reserve Bulletin,"
and information on the staff.
There are also main sections on banking regulation, the payments
system, community development, information for consumers, and
information on the Fed publications.
