Brookings Institution
The Brookings Institution "functions as an independent
analyst and critic, committed to publishing its findings for the
information of the public. In its conferences and activities, it
serves as a bridge between scholarship and public policy, bringing
new knowledge to the attention of decision makers and affording
scholars a better insight into public policy issues." Their work is
divided into three main areas: Economic Studies, Foreign Policy
Studies, and Governmental Studies (they offer breakdowns of their
work in each of these areas). They also offer extensive information
on their scholars (handily arranged by areas of expertise), topical
areas of interest in "Hot Topics," and their publications
(including "Brookings Papers on Economic Activity"). Finally, they
offer information about themselves and related organizations.
