The IEA attempts to "improve understanding of the fundamental institutions of a free society with particular reference to the role of markets in solving economic and social problems." This site presents some of the current research issues being addressed by the Institute; publications, including the IEA journal "Economic Affairs"; upcoming conferences and lectures, press releases, a forum for discussing current topics, and a student section. This site also provides information on the activities of the Education Unit, the Environment Unit, the Health and Welfare Unit, and the Trade and Development Unit.
